I’m sitting here, reflecting on my life, as I so often do – and I just came to a realisation. 2019 was kind of a ‘reset’ year for me. A tad rebellious maybe, and a huge tad confusing. I lost all my interest in the holistic realm, and I was screaming the oh so existential question to the moon; ‘who am I, and why can’t I seem to keep an interest for something longer than a few years!!!’. I whipped myself with words and thoughts until 2020 came around. Like magic my mind, soul and body finally came back home to park in the same garage again. Reunited in peace and passion – while each of them also bringing home some new ways of existing.
In other words; my joy for everything holistic is yet again sparked. I’m finding joy in natural products again. I’m drinking organic tea. I’m baking bread, brewing kombucha, sprouting beans and burning palo santo. All out of the longing of my heart. Just because I want to. Just based on inner motivation and nothing, nothing, else. It feels like coming home.
With this dramatic intro in mind I will leave you with the most basic, though delicious raw treat recipe. If you were even slightly into health back in 2017 you’ve seen this plenty of times before – if not; you’re welcome.
Raw treats, especially energy balls like these, can be made out of whatever you have in your kitchen. I’d say that as long as you have dates and some kind of nuts or oats, you’re basically fine. This is the recipe I’ve been making this year – coming your way with no measurements sadly. Just grab however much you have and blend it in a food processor. Then you make them into balls with your hands and keep them in your fridge until they’re in your tummy.
Dates, oats, shredded coconut, sprouted buckwheat, peanut butter, raw cacao powder, hemp seeds, himalayan salt, water (just a tiny little bit for the sake of the consistency).
