Nut milk, you guys. it’s so delicious! And good for you! And cheap! And easy to make! And yes I’m overly excited and in love with this liquid!
In a few seconds you’ll read through the recipes of my two basic favourites. The plain original one, and the chocolate flavoured. Enjoy them in smoothies, over granola and fruit, in oatmeal or just as they are.
Ingredients – 1 dl nuts of choice (almond is my favourite) – 4 dl ice-cold water – a tiny little pinch of salt
For chocolate flavour, add this: – 1 tbs raw cacao powder – 1 medjool date
And then you do: 1. Soak the nuts at least 8 hours. (lay them in a bowl, cover with water, and leave them in room temperature) 2. After soaking, rinse the nuts with water 3. Place all ingredients in a blender, and blend until smooth 4. Get your nut milk bag, or a thin clean kitchen towel, and press the milk through it and into a bowl. 5. Pour the finished product into an airtight bottle, and it will last for about five days in the fridge.
And remember, you want to make this perfect for you. Which means you might have to add more dates, less chocolate, more salt, more nuts, less salt etc.! This is just how I like it, and luckily for the food companies, our taste buds are all so beautifully different.
