Visualisation is one of the most powerful mind-exercises we can do.
Athletes do it to perform better, some people do it as part of healing from disease, and it’s an important step in getting what we want in general.
Visualisation is about envisioning what we want to happen, as though it’s happening right now. We train our mind to automatically make choices that gets us where we want to go. Our mind actually has a hard time differentiating between whats happening in “the real world” and in our fantasy, and that’s best proven by athletes visualising their next race, or a specific movement, and their muscles actually responding to it just as if they were doing it in real life.
Just like it’s easier to train our brain when we get still, its also easier to hear our intuition and subconscious mind – it’s easier for them to send us messages and get things thought to us. Such as what we really want in life, and solutions to problems we’re obsessing over.
Our body is smart. Much smarter than we give it credit for. So listening is not a bad idea.
Beside from that I also love doing this kind of visualisation just to feel good at get motivated.
I made a guided visualisation today – walking you through how I would normally think when I visualise my future. I love doing this in the morning, especially if it’s a day when I find it hard to get out of bed!
Have fun with it, and let me know what you think.
