Today, yes this morning, I left my bottle of Urban Veda face oil empty on the bathroom counter. It was a sad moment as we’ve had some really joyful couple of months together. To honour her short lived life I thought I’d write a little bit about her on here, to maybe inspire you to get one of her twins if you feel called to.
Oils. I don’t know, they’re just the perfect match to my skin. I got introduced to them years ago when I first got into holistic practices, and I’ve never found a creamy moisturiser that can replace them ever since. Or even compete for that matter.
I’ve read numerous places that oils in fact don’t clog pores or trigger breakouts (as you would maybe think), they actually do the opposite. As long as you find one that works for your skin of course. I think the theory is that dried out skin, especially from drying products, can end up over producing its own oil and that can lead to clogged pores. When you apply oil to your skin however, it doesn’t have to produce its own oil.
I personally don’t struggle with such conditions, but I need products to help me moisturise my sometimes dry sometimes dehydrated skin. This oil does the perfect job for me. I also love using pure Argan oil, but this Urban Veda one just adds that cherry on top for me. It leaves my skin feeling hydrated, while it also gives me that glow I’m looking for in spring time. In addition to that I find the scent of this product mesmerising. I was convinced there were some kind of perfume built in to the oil when I first smelled it, but later found out there isn’t.
Urban Veda is based on Ayurvedic philosophies, with a different line of products for each Dosha; pitta, vata and kapha, as well as a line for those who fall in between all of them. I’m a vata-pitta type, and went for the vata oil. In addition to being for vatas it’s also designed for dry / dehydrated skin.
The oil has natural ingredients, it’s vegan and cruelty free. The only downside to the product is the somewhat stiff price tag, but oils in general tend to be a little exxxpensivo hey. You can visit their website here, and in Norway you can get all their products on Life.
I hope you have a beautiful day wherever you are in the world. There’s a blue sky outside my window today, the sun is slowly melting what’s left of snow on the ground and I feel excited to be alive. I hope you do, too.
